The EUROFLEETS project is please to announce the high-ranking award granted to Prof. Antje Boetius, head of the deep-sea research group at the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research in the Helmholtz Association and Professor of Geomicrobiology at the University of Bremen. The award, a 3,4 million Euros Advanced Grant from the European Research Council's, will be applied in the coming 5 year in a ground-breaking deep-sea research project - the exploration of the deep-sea floor in the Arctic to unravel the role of the largely unknown bacterial communities living there.
