Features:

The RV Mare Nigrum is a multipurpose research vessel which carries out a wide variety of survey operations in offshore as well as deep sea locations, acoustic and oceanographic surveys, buoy handling operations, environmental sampling, and geological and hydrographic surveying. The ROV Vector M5 with 1000m depth rating can also be operated from RV Mare Nigrum.

Mobile scientific equipment on request:

RV Mare Nigrum can provide a range of additional mobile equipment for various tasks including a variety of grabs and corers and additional sampling equipment.

Science support by crew:

Deck crew: 24h operations supported; Regular technical support for onboard science systems.

Availability for EUROFLEETS:

The RV Mare Nigrum is being made available to the EUROFLEETS project for a total of 5 days for one or two cruises, this duration can be extended to a maximum of 12 days for well evaluated projects, subject to budget availability. The vessel will be available annually for work in the Black Sea from January to mid December.

Travel and shipment costs:

Travelling costs for cruise participants and the shipment of equipment to the port of mobilisation and back from the port of demobilisation will be reimbursed up to a maximum of 15.000€. If higher costs are incurred they have to be covered by the applicant.

Requirements for scientist:

Seafares medical examination.
