EU study on the economic value of improved ocean data

A new study has highlighted how better access to interoperable marine data can support growth in the blue economy by stimulating innovation and reducing uncertainty in knowledge of the sea’s behaviour.

A brief summary showing how it could contribute to better design of aquaculture cages, management of coastal erosion, protection of subsea cables and
navigational safety is also available.
