Eurofleets presented at CommOcean its Ship-to-Shore activities!

EUROFLEETS presented its successful live streamings from Eurofleets’ funded research campaigns.

The CommOCEAN conference combines hands-on exercises in current science communication skills for disseminating ocean research and technology, with plenty of expertise-sharing, social interaction, and fascinating marine science along the way.

Eurofleets+ presented on its  European ‘Ship to Shore’ expedition programme using communications technology which has enabled live broadcasting from several Transnational Access surveys onboard research vessels. The technology has facilitated dynamic, modern, and innovative interactions with public broadcasts.

Two broadcasts were carried out. The first, a live stream event to Zoological Society Facebook from the ROV on the 06/08/2021. This involved a ship-to-shore audio and video interactive session with the Facebook audience using the comments section to submit questions to the scientists on-board. During the live stream, 10 Counties were reached, and there were over 100 people watching at any one time with 122 peak live views. The second broadcast took place via a Live stream event to Eurofleets+ Facebook page from the RV SOCIB during the launch and recovery of Underwater Vehicles in Mediterranean Sea on the GRASSMPP Cruise. It included Ship to shore audio and video, interactive Q&A with the Facebook audience using the comments section.
