Management of all activities relating to understanding the innovation management needs, with the objective of successfully identifying new ideas, and managing them, in order to develop new products and services which satisfy these needs. This will involve close collaboration with the participants in WP3 Joint Research Activities. The Innovation Committee will meet annually to:

  • to identify and analyse (SWOT) the potentially exploitable results and the corresponding potential market opportunities,
  • to agree on actions towards exploitation, including short tracks aiming at implementing in the short term the achievements on board the Eurofleets+ vessels and equipment,
  • to assess actions efficiency over the elapsed year.

These meetings will be preferably organized back-to-back to the annual general assemblies. In the meanwhile, progress and emerging opportunities will be discussed during regular teleconferences.

Next to this continuous interaction between the beneficiaries of this work package, a regular dialogue will also be organized with external industry representatives and other potential interested parties, in order to network with potential customers and users and to foster future partnerships and successful exploitation: members of the Innovation Committee of Eurofleets+ will actively participate in marine technology events like: Oceanology International, INMARTECH, Ocean Business, for example. Interactive participation (booth, workshop, dedicated session or side event) will be favoured.

The Innovation Committee will also contribute to WP8 in order to investigate how to include Eurofleets+ key– products like EARS in the sustained legacy of the project.
